How we protect your business

Five things we will never get wrong

Encryption at rest

Server data and backup snapshots are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, using infrastructure-managed keys. On your phone, records stay encrypted locally before sync.

  • AES-256-GCM on servers and backups
  • Infrastructure-managed backup encryption
  • Device-local AES-GCM before sync

Encryption in transit

TLS 1.3 with modern cipher suites. HSTS preloaded. Public-key pinning on the mobile app.

  • TLS 1.3 only · no TLS 1.0/1.1
  • Strict-Transport-Security preloaded
  • Cert-pinned mobile sync

Data residency in Nigeria

Primary database lives in Lagos. Cross-region copies exist for disaster recovery and never leave West Africa.

  • Primary · Lagos (NG)
  • DR replica · Accra (GH)
  • No US/EU data egress

Authentication

PIN, fingerprint, or face ID at the device. Security questions fall back for recovery. No SMS for password reset — too fragile.

  • 4–6 digit PIN with throttling
  • Biometric where available
  • 3 security questions for recovery

Incident response

If something goes wrong we say so — on the status page, by email, on WhatsApp. P1 incidents get a postmortem published within 7 days.

  • Status page updated < 15 min from detection
  • Customer notice within 24h
  • Public postmortem within 7 days

Third-party audits

External penetration test annually. SOC 2 Type I is on our roadmap — not yet certified. Reports available under NDA when available.

How your data flows

A receipt becomes a P&L line

Every sale is encrypted on the device, queued locally, and synced when network returns. Nothing leaves your phone unencrypted; nothing leaves Nigeria.

Step 1 · Device
Phone or tablet

Sale rings up offline. Encrypted with a device-local key derived from your PIN before it ever touches storage.

AES-256 · IndexedDB

Step 2 · Transit
TLS 1.3 tunnel

When network returns, the encrypted blob travels to our Lagos cluster over a pinned TLS 1.3 connection.

TLS 1.3 · cert-pinned

Step 3 · Cloud
Lagos servers

Stored in a tenant-isolated database. Backup snapshots encrypted with infrastructure-managed AES-256-GCM. Replicated to Accra for disaster recovery only.

AES-256 at rest · NG primary
